The Suck Less philosophy for software →
mnmal:
Many (open source) hackers are proud if they achieve large amounts of code, because they believe the more lines of code they’ve written, the more progress they have made. The more progress they have made, the more skilled they are. This is simply a delusion.

Code complexity is the mother of bloated, hard to use, and totally inconsistent software. With complex code, problems are solved...
The rules for computing happiness
mnmal:
Back by popular demand:
Alex Payne has the following rules for a healthy computing experience. I do agree with all of them.
The list
On software:
Use as little software as possible.
Use software that does one thing well.
Do not use software that does many things poorly.

The problem with iPhone Killers →
I usually don’t have much to say about the smartphone race, but this article hits bang right on the nail of what I feel about this whole iPhone Killer business.

On arugments
If I don’t argue with you it doesn’t mean you’re opinion is worth shit. It just means that I’m tired of fighting it out with a person who is not open to new ideas and such.

Mein gott! I want this book. Like really want it.
Have always been really impressed with how he does what he does, RDF and all. Even applied it to when I was doing my term as Students’ Union President in Polytechnic.
Would love to see what they can dissect from perhaps a master at telling you stories and getting you to buy stuff.
Ikea Hacker →
It dawned on me when I watched this particular TED talk that I was very much in what David Logan terms a level 2 tribe. I’ve basically gone from saying that life sucks to the one that says mine sucks on infinite levels of hell.
That being said, I do want to move on, cause it is only natural eh?
I’ve been doing some stuff to better my situation thus far. Working on apps to make life...
Reboot
Restarted the tumblr account. Old one was being too clogged up with feeds from twitter and flickr. Gonna stop that with this new one and just write and post other cool shit.
