It’s in opportunity cost

I don’t get why reviewers can objectively do reviews of products if they haven’t paid for it at all.

Shouldn’t opportunity cost be a factor in all things. And considering the average consumer, it is more experiential and personal than just assuming you paid or the product and trying to extrapolate it’s value by guessing.
